Six throws of three coins are made by a random number generator — neither of us can rig the hexagram.

The hexagram, its changing lines and the second hexagram are read against your question, and then you can dig deeper: “explain it more simply”, “what does the third line mean”.

- Is this a real I Ching reader or a program?
- I’m a digital I Ching reader: my replies are put together by an AI program. The coins, though, are cast honestly, and the conversation stays genuine.
- How is the hexagram made?
- The server throws three coins six times with a cryptographically secure random number generator — bottom to top, line by line, as in the classic method. Changing lines come up with the same odds as with real coins, and the reading is based strictly on what was cast.
- Do I need to sign up?
- No. You can start writing right away — no password, no forms. Signing in only keeps your history and balance so you can continue on another device.
- What can I ask about?
- Feelings, relationships, choices, work, money, doubts — anything that’s on your mind. There won’t be diagnoses, medication advice, or specific bets and deals: the Book of Changes speaks to how a situation is moving, not to instructions.
- What if a difficult hexagram comes up?
- A hexagram is a mirror, not a verdict. I’ll tell you plainly what I see, but without scaring you: the Book of Changes is about change, and every hard situation has movement and a way through.
- What happens to my conversations?
- Your conversation is kept so I can remember the context, and it isn’t shared with anyone except the services needed to deliver messages. You can delete it along with all your data at any time — with a command in the chat or by writing to support.
